Alfred Henry Rhiner

Alfred Henry Rhiner, 86, of Olympia Village, born on June 12, 1923 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, at home. Mr. Rhiner was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a 58 year member of the Boilermakers Local 27; a past Master of Masonic Lodge #338; and a past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star #325, both in Herculaneum, Missouri. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Desota; belonged to the VFW Post #8042 at Evening Shade, Arkansas, was a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite of St. Louis and very proud of being a 32nd degree Mason. He was a past member of the Shriner’s and the York Rite. He is survived by Bessie Goodman Rhiner, his wife of 20 years; a daughter, Mary Rhiner of Boss, Missouri; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Tammy Rhiner of Arnold, Missouri; three step-sons Joseph Goodman and his wife, Anna of Pevely, Missouri, John Goodman of Wisconsin, Tim Goodman and his wife, Kathy of Festus, Missouri; one step-daughter, Karen Mills also of Festus; one granddaughter, Melissa Brown and her husband, Christopher of Crystal City, Missouri; two great-grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Billy Eugene Rhiner of Commerce City, Colorado; and one niece, Doris Judice and her husband, Louis of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Edna Faye (Fletcher) Rhiner, his parents: William Frederick and Lillian Mae (Watkinson) Rhiner; and four sisters. Visitation will be at the Mahn Funeral Home in Desoto, Missouri on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Sunday, November 22 at 2:00 conducted by Rev. Rich Grayson. Military graveside services was at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Sharp Cemetery in Evening Shade, Arkansas under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home in Cave City.
