Effie Lee (Armstrong) Starr, 102, of Greenbrier, died Sunday, November 8, 2009, at her home. She was born July 29, 1907, in Red Bay, Alabama, a daughter of the late James Isaac and Mary (Boyd) Armstrong. She was also preceded in death by daughters, Irene Gifford and June Beene; grandsons, Donnie Been, Greg Elam; and a great-grandson, Cole McWilliams. Mrs. Starr was the last of eleven children; a home maker and attended the Robinson and Center Church of Christ.

She is survived by daughters, Jean McDougal of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kay Cardin and husband, Johnny of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Jayma Stephens, Trudy Helton, Tina Baker, Lonna Weddle, Oleva Provence, Vera Grimes, Martell, Gary, Joe, Jeff , Rafel, Angela McDougal, Kim Carmichael, Lisa McWilliams, Michael and Brian Elam; great-grandchildren, Ashley Sanchez, Garrick McDougal, Michael and Megan Harney, Richard Provence, Chase and Sheridan Grimes, Wintress and Austin McDougal, Brittiany Elam, James Stephens, Timothy Yoast, Jamie Townley, Devon and Kaylee Weddle, Hayden Carmichael, Bailey McWilliams, Philip May; as well as a number of great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

Visitation will be 6 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at the funeral home. Funeral will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, with Jerry Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. 501-327-7727.
