Stephen E. Headley, 74, of Cave City died Monday, November 9, 2009 at his home. He was born in Cave City on October 8, 1935 and was the son of Horace Edward and Easter (Marlin) Headley. He was a builder, farmer and business owner. He attended the Cave City Church of God. Survivors include his wife, of 53 years, Delora (Goff) Headley whom he married on June 23, 1956 in Douglas, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, David and Beverly Headley of Alabaster, Alabama; daughters: Charlotte Barnett and her husband, Raymond of Cave City and Melora Guerber of Hardy; eight grandchildren: Ramona Leddy, Rodney Barnett, Brian Barnett all of Cave City; Jonathan Headley, Gabrielle Hernandez, Daniel Headley all of Starkville, Mississippi, Austin Guerber of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Thomas Guerber of Hardy; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, James Headley of Cave City; two sisters: Wanda Goforth of Denmark, Arkansas and Darlene Herrman of Cave City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Headley; and three sisters, Olga Sugg, Lucille Goforth and Rosemary Peterson. Pallbearers will be Rodney Barnett, Jonathan Headley, Brian Barnett, Daniel Headley, Austin Guerber, Thomas Guerber, Sean Leddy and Brandon Hernandez Honorary pallbearers are James Headley, Jim Goforth, Latraina Peacock and Gary Taylor. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the First Assembly of God Church in Cave City officiated by Bro Allen Brown and Bro. Bobby Sanders. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
