Durwood Sanders

Durwood Sanders, 83, of Mount Vernon, passed away on November 7, 2009. He was born August 13, 1926, the oldest of four children, to the late Kenneth D. and Beaulah (Armstrong) Sanders. His surviving brother, Clois, still resides at the family homestead.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Sanders; two sons, Jack and wife, Danielle; Jerry and wife, Holli; four grandchildren, Marty and wife Sarah, Lori and husband Billy, Max and Keith; great-grandchildren, Vivian, Jacob, Crossen, Braden, Wyatt and Risen.

Durwood attended Floyd School and was an Army veteran of World War II. He resided in Mount Vernon and spent his life trucking and farming. He was always ready to get back to work. He was a friend to many—everyone knew him. He will be missed.
