Mary Jane Barnard
Mary Jane Barnard
January 12, 1961 - November 8, 2009

Mary Jane Barnard, 48 of Rose Bud went to be with Jesus on November 8th 2009. Her Mother, brothers and sisters were by her side.

The service to celebrate the life of our sweet Mary Jane will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 10th at Rose Bud Assembly of God church with visitation to be held on Monday November 9th from 5 – 8 PM also at the Church.

Mary Jane was born, as she liked to say, on her birthday, January 12th 1961. She was the first daughter of William Jasper and Mary Ellen Barnard. Mary Jane was Downs Syndrome, which is just another way of saying always kind and joyful.

She is survived by her faithful mother Mary Ellen Barnard of Rose Bud, two sisters Patricia Diane Casey of Vilonia, and Thelma Lou McClure of Huntsville, two brothers, William Darrel Barnard also of Rose Bud, and Ronnie Gayle Barnard of Christiansburg, Virginia. She was the favorite of her siblings and their spouses as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and countless friends.

Her dad, William Jasper Barnard, with whom she is now reunited, preceded her in death.

She was a faithful member of Rose Bud Assembly of God church for many years until she became a part of The Legacy of Faith church plant in Mt. Vernon. She loved her Jesus and her church families.

Mary Jane enjoyed gifts and the people who gave them. She loved simple things like Styrofoam cups, ice in just the right quantity, and her television. She gave the best hugs to anyone who needed one and radiated the joy of a life lived in love and contentedness. She was plain spoken but never pretentious or contentious. She just loved loving and being loved.

The family suggests memorial consideration in honor of Mary Jane be made to Reece’s Rainbow, an International Down Syndrome Orphan Ministry. Their mailing address is Reece’s Rainbow, PO Box 4024, Gaithersburg, MD 20885 or www.reecesrainbow.com/
