Annie Lucille Brown, 85, of Batesville died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at White River Medical Center. She was born in Newark, Arkansas on Tuesday, April 1, 1924; the daughter of Melvin M. and Carrie (Duncan) Moore. Annie loved her family and liked cooking for them. She enjoyed quilting and being around her friends. She was a member of Weaver’s Chapel Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Darrell Brown of Batesville; a daughter, Barbara Pool also of Batesville; six grandchildren: Carrie Brown, Kevin Brown, Kelsey Brown, Phyllis Ring, Sheila Poff and Donald Brown; nine great-grandchildren: Hannah Brown, Noah Brown, John Michael Poff, Megan Poff, Ryan Goodman, Chad Goodman, Jerrod Goodman, Matthew Brown and Jacob Brown; and three great-great-grandchildren: Ella, Grant and Gracie Gay. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Alonzo Brown; a son, Freddie Joe Brown; two granddaughters: Kassaundra Goodman and Judy Lynn Pool; five sisters and three brothers. Pallbearers will be Kevin Brown, Sammy Collins, Steve Collins, Richard Moore, Larry Money, Lawrence Nelson, Tommy Kinion, and Matthew Gay. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Bob Slaughter and his staff, caregivers at Wood-lawn Nursing Home, Pat Sutton Gail Harmon, Tom Anderson and Randy Goodman. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Roller-Crouch Chapel officiated by Bro. Charles Crowson. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman under the direction on Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
