Sherry Jean Neidhardt

of Sherwood, AR

February 4, 1947 - February 23, 2007

Sherry Jean Kittle Neidhardt, 60, of Sherwood, passed away in her home Friday, February 23, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.

Born and reared in North Little Rock, she graduated from North Little Rock High, attended ASU, and graduated from UALR as an RN. Sherry was a nurse for many years at ACRC and later for Arkansas Hospice. Her focus was on the care for critically ill patients, where she was able to provide an extraordinary level of comfort that reached beyond what most of us have come to accept. Many former patients or their families from as far away as Germany have continued to keep in touch with her over the years, a tribute to the impact she had on so many in their most difficult times

Sherry was predeceased by her father, Lawrence Kittle, and leaves behind her husband, Lewis; sons, Cornell Heldenbrand (Robyn) of Lowell, AR, Seth Heldenbrand (Kristen) of North Little Rock and Jason Neidhardt of Little Rock; daughter, Whitney Neidhardt Waggonner (Chris) of Denver, CO; her mother, Dorothy Kittle of North Little Rock; sister, Kathy Anne Gaulding (Allen) of North Little Rock; and brother, Lt. Col. (Ret.) James Kittle of Daytona Beach, FL. But most precious was her grandson, Will, who gave her an abundance of joy that brought a twinkle to the eyes of them both.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, AR 72204, to help continue the work that meant so much to Sherry.

Whitney, I will never forget the love and kindness of your mother. She was like a second mom to me during those years that mattered the most.

We were very proud to have known Sherry. To visit her home and feel the warmth and love that was abundant there. We never knew her as a nurse but we could feel her caring spirit. We enjoyed her art and seeing her knitting while sitting on the sofa surrounded by her four legged family made us feel warm and at home. She will be missed.

So sorry to read of the loss of Sherry. I had not seen Sherry since we went to high school and graduated together. I remember her as a very sweet and kind young lady. It sounds like she carried this with her through her life in her love and care for people as a nurse. We know you all are thankful for that. May the Lord be with you all and comfort you during this loss. In Christian Love, Sandra (Red) Moore

I have not seen Sherry since I was a youngster around 8 or 9 years old. I was a little terror and probably gave her more trouble than I was worth. I had a crush on her and was always so thrilled when she came to babysit my sister and I. I guess my behavoir was my way of getting more attention from her. Anyway I remember playing my "4 Seasons" 45 rpm record of SHERRY when she came over. In my eyes Sherry was the most beautiful teenage girl I had ever seen. She had an inner beauty too. It appears that I was very perceptive at my age. After reading about her life in the obituary she was so full life and touched many people in so many special ways. May God Bless all those that she left behind.
