Lelon "King Bee" Cross, age 82 of Conway, died Sunday, February 11, 2007. He was born April 6, 1924 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late Samuel and Imer Swindle Cross. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris June Cross, a son, Wayne Cross, and by two sisters, Anna Belle Harroll and Mary Shoemaker. Lelon was an electrician with Virco Industries for 20 plus years, until his retirement in 1990. Lelon also served his country in the Army during World War II from 1941 to 1946.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Evelyn Cross; children Lelon Cross, Jr. and his wife Deanie Cross of Little Rock, Eddie Cross and his wife Sherrill Cross of Wynne, Lane Cross and his wife Patricia Cross of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Cory Dennis Cross of Conway; stepdaughters Sue Ann Dennis Covert of Conway and Patricia Dennis Horton of Little Rock. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother David Cross, sister Marie Jones, both of West Helena. Special mention of best friend, Jerry Baird, of Conway.
Memorial services will be Thursday, 1:00 p.m., February 15th at Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, Arkansas (501.327.7727), officiated by Rev. Greg Thompson. On line guest book: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com

Mrs. Cross, I was so sorry to read of King Bee's death. I am Jim Foreman's widow (he died 12/8/06). I can remember King Bee and Jim on the CB and all the fun they always had. He always made it a point when he saw me to ask about Jim. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
