Linda - I hope you'll see this note as I don't have your email address. I only learned of your dad's death TODAY (3/11/14) while talking to Spotsie Peck! I am so sorry that I didn't know as I would have come! May God's love, grace, and peace be with you, now and always ... Susie
Hi Linda, I was really sorry to hear the news about your dad. He was so dear to me...as well as your grandparents. There are five men who are called "great" in the Holy Scriptures. One of them is a man by the name of Abner. Upon hearing the news of Abner's death, King David said, "Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?" That is the verse that came to mind when I heard the news about your dad. He was always one of my favorite brothers at bible school. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You and I had some fun times at bible school...I remember them fondly. Love, Vicki sanders Husted
Prayers for you all, family and friends, may God wrap his arms of comfort around you!
Becca and family-so sorry for your loss. Even though we moved when I was little I remember how much you loved him. Hang on tight to the memories and know he us in a wonderful place. Love all of you.
Linda, I'm sorry I couldn't make the visitation or funeral. He had a great and long life. I hope you and your family are doing good. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
During my introduction to Little Rock and Arkansas banking as CEO of Superior Bank, I found Ben to be a great banker, decisive director, good friend and true gentleman. Ben had a significant, positive impact on his community and its citizens. He will be sorely missed by all that were fortunate enough to know him.
I will always associate bible school with Bro. Ben, Jr., and his mother and father, too. I cried all the way home from work yesterday when I heard of his passing. I felt like a beloved family member was lost. All the memories of my childhood and Bro. Ben, Jr. came flooding back last night as I thought about him. He was blessing to all who knew him and will be missed. After he was superintent it never was the same at bible school in so many ways. No one could ever fill his shoes. Loved his morning assemblies and nightly announcements. He was a friend to everyone and a true disciple of Christ.
Linda, I worked for Dr. James Weber, Family Physician in Jacksonville for 13 years, and your dad would come in from time to time to visit with Dr. Weber. Mr. Scroggin was always so nice to me and the other staff. He always had a smile and a kind word. I feel fortunate to have known him all those years ago. I just wanted to share that with you and let you know that I am sorry for your loss.
Linda may God bless you and your family. Mr. Ben was my support in family matters for so many years and was a comfort to me many times in the past! Many good memories with him and Imogene. God bless you! My sympathy to the family. He will be missed dearly! Another Angel got his wings!
So sorry for your loss and keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers...
Bro. Ben was one of the first people I would think of when Arkansas Bible School was mentioned. As a child, I loved to do the books of the Bible which he led pointing to different sections to respond. We sat by him at New Mexico Bible School too. He got up and went scouting for elk. Jim said he really enjoyed doing that. We are thankful for Bible Schools today because of Bro. Ben. May his sleep be short.
Brother Ben was truly a pillar at the Arkansas Christadelphian Bible School. I first met him in 1969 when he was superintendent. I loved it when he led the books of the Bible at the school. He will be truly missed. He now sleeps awaiting our Lord's return and the resurrection of those who sleep. We look forward to that time when our Lord will set up His Kingdom here on this earth to rule it in righteousness and Truth. It is our hope to see Bro. Ben again at that Great Day.
I'll remember Bro. Ben for his smile, his love of God and the Arkansas Travelers', and for being a well-balanced and kind brother in Christ.
Our condolences to the family.
Our condolences to the family.
Our beloved Brother Ben will certainly be missed by all. We rejoice that his next waking moment will be on that day of resurrection. What a wonderful day that will be when we will all be together again in the company of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Our Hope, Steve, Susanne & Jeffrey Howe
I am so saddened to hear of Bro. Ben's passing. When I hear his name, I have always smiled. Memories flood back to me of how much a part of the Arkansas Bible School he was to me. Through all my years spent there, his uplifting ways brought smiles all around. Meeting in the Tabernacle in the evening, we could all look forward to his uplifting and comforting voice. He always greeted everyone, teased a little, and encompassed everyone in the audience. We remember the Bible quizzes, how many states were represented, tidbits about persons and events that happened that day, servers for the next day and Always....Saying the Books of the Bible!
For me, and so many others, he was the face of the Arkansas Bible School. He gave so much to so many and I want all to know how important he was to me and so many others. I will relish the memories forever. Love and Prayers to the family.
Bro. Ben will surely be missed by all. I enjoyed our visits at the ARBS; he always had time to stop and talk with you. May his sleep be short.
Brother Ben was a person I deeply respected as a man and as a Brother in Christ.I began attending the Arkansas Bible school when I was 15 and in need of some stable people in my life, he was one.
I pray we will all be re-united soon in the Kingdom, I believe his sleep will be short.
