James O. ''Obb'' Johnson, age 94, of Mountain Home passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1919 in Newton Flat, Arkansas to James Walter and Martha (Richey) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson married Ivogene Bryant July 19, 1941 in Flippin. He was a retired building contractor for over 30 years and a lifelong cattle rancher. He was a man of few words and strong faith. His life revolved around his family. His grandparents were among the first settlers in Bull Shoals. He will be buried in Newton Flat Cemetery, land which was donated by his grandparents.
Mr. Johnson is survived by a son: James C. ''Jimmy'' Johnson and wife Jennie of Mountain Home, a daughter: Barbara McKee and husband Mike of Mountain Home, a sister: Edna Daffron of Flippin, four grandchildren: Scott Surber and wife Jacque of Owasso, Oklahoma, Courtney Pearson and husband Brian of Joplin, Missouri, Jamie Rigdon and husband Roy of Mountain Home and Jeana Wiesner and husband Troy of Bakersfield, Missouri, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and a sister.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Newton Flat Cemetery in Bull Shoals. Visitation will be from Noon until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Roller Funeral Home with family receiving friends 6:00-7:00 p.m.
