Extending our sympathy to the family at this time. (Glen's family is related to the Pinkstons formerly of Calico Rock.)
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Pinkston, a few months ago, when members of our camp went to visit with him. It was a real pleasure to be able to meet him and listen to his stories of his military service and his life. He was a great example of the bravery of "The Greatest Generation". He will be missed by all of us!

On behalf of the members of Boston Mountains Chapter #2666, United Daughter of the Condederacy, I wish to express our sympathy for your loss. Also, the loss of our last "Real Son" in Arkansas is a sad day indeed! "... The God of love and peace shall be with you." II Corinthians 13:11 God bless you and your family. Ruth Fisher, President of Boston Mountains Chapter #2666, UDC.
I am a great great grandson of Thomas Jefferson Pinkston by his first wife Julia Thrasher. My great grandmother, Amanda Pinkston Landrum, died when I was 7, but her children gave me information on the Pinkstons when I became interested in family history when I was 12. They knew about Zelda and her 2 sons, Edward and Charlie. I have a photo of Thomas J. which had belonged to "Mandy," and one of uncle Edward. Wish I could be with you but my mother has dementia and I am unable to travel.
It is sad to hear of Mr. Pinkstons passing. It was an honor to have him as our last Real Son.
Our prayers are with you.

Psalms 116: 15 comes to mind, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." It is a wonderful thing to know eternal peace and joy in God’s presence, for here is no more pain or sorrow. His battle is over, his duty done. May God’s choicest blessings be upon each of you during your time of grief.

Faye and family,
The passing of Charlie was a sad suprise. I do know that Charlie was a proud member of JO Shelby Camp #1414 of Harrison and we were delighted to have him as our only Real Son. The Sons of Confederate Veterans is the only organization recognized by the former Confederate soldiers themselves. I am certain Charlie's father was pleased that he was a member for so long.
Members of the Arkansas Division will be present at the graveside services and will honor Charlie for the last time.
I am so pleased that we were able to interview and get it published in the Confederate Veteran. It will be something we will always remember and cherish.
May God bless and keep you.
Respectfully
