I am sorry to hear of Elder Sherwood's passing. Elder Sherwood and Elder Burton were companions in Trondheim and lived in the upstairs apartment from Elder Broadbent and myself back in 1974. My condolences to his family.
It was with tremendous sadness that I learned of Karl's passing just this evening. I've known Karl and his family since I was in elementary school. I've always known him as an extremely fine man from an extremely fine family. What a fortunate woman you are Elaine to have spent those 31 years with Karl. I know his light and legacy continues with you and the kids. I'll always remember Karl with a smile in my heart. I know his work continues, and his smiles and watchful spirit will continue to comfort and steady the whole family. Nancy and I love all of you. Peace!
I just heard the news of Karl's passing. I spoke with Karl earlier in June when I first found out about his condition.
As a member of the MCMA (Midwest Circulation Management Association) Karl was a very active member. I last saw Karl at the convention last April in Kansas City. Karl and I were always teamed up together on the golf outtng.
Karl newspaper won the "best new Hot idea" in circulation the year before when he introduced us all to the "Toad Suck Days" held each year in Conway. The idea was to take a stuffed Toad doll and place him through out the community and also to have subscribers take the toad with them on vacation and then have the subscriber and the toads picture in the paper. It was a great promotion to get the readers into the paper. Karl will be dearly missed. I will hit a shot in his memory at this year's golf outting.
I was sorry to hear of your husband's passing. I knew him only for a few months a long time ago when he was serviing as a missionary in Halden. Even though it was a long time ago and our friendship lasted but a few months, he made a lasting impression on me. At that time I was serving in Fredrikstad, just a few miles away. Karl was a fun loving guy and a good missionary and I enjoyed serving with him. I send my condolences and let you know that my prayers are with you and your family.

I served with Karl in Norway and remember him well. So sorry to hear of his passing. My wife and I still remember our short time in Arkansas back in 1981 and our weekends at the Sherwood home in Conway. You made us feel like family and we will always remember Karl and his family for their great hospitality. Our prayers are with you.
I had the pleasure of serving with Karl in Norway and remember him fondly. My prayers are with the Sherwood family. He left a great legacy.
Dear Sherwood Family
I was in the LTM (now called MTC) group with Karl. What a fantastic guy and a great missionary. I remember him as a big teddy bear of a guy. I can still hear his Arkansas-drawl variety of Norwegian, which still makes me smile. Condolences for your loss.
God bless

Elaine, Paul, Brother and Sister Sherwood,
Just wanted to let you know that my heart and prayers are with you. Karl and I have been close friends since high school, even though I lived in Helena. I always knew that I could go to him whenever needed. I appreciate Elaine you being so understanding of Karl's service to others. I have not seen you for so long. I completely enjoyed our dinner together years ago at Brown's Restaurant in Benton. I had not heard how sick Karl was. I am so sorry. If you ever need help, please let me. Take care.
love ya,
sherry

I am so sorry for your loss. He was a good man with a great smile. I know your pain and am truly sorry that you all have to feel it.
I was so sorry to hear of Karl's death. Our families go way back to the Mesa, Arizona days and the Animas, New Mexico days. Our fathers and mothers were best friends. We lost our brother Randy (who was Karl's age) this year and our Dad. They must be having a great reunion in Heaven. We know what you are going through and our hearts and prayers are with you. Brother and Sister Ray Sherwood were some of my favorite people. Brother Sherwood was a big tease also. Thank goodness for the gospel and all our promises. We will be thinking of all of you tomarrow.
To Elaine, Children, and Grandchildren: I'm saddened to hear of your loss and will keep you in my prayers. God Bless

I said, "Sometimes I fail."
He said, "I'll see you through."
I said, "But what if I fall?"
He said "I will carry you."
I said, "My fears are great!"
He said, "Trust Me alone."
I said, "But I'm depress."
He said, "I'll cheer you on."
I said, "Life isn't easy."
He said, "Please let Me help; remember I love you."
I said, "Lord, I accept."

As everyone knows how special Karl is, I can't bring myself to say was because in my heart he will always be there. I've known Karl for a very long time and can't imagine not being able to see or talk to him. Elaine and Kids we are so sorry and there aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe the feelings and emotions that you are going through during this time. But we do wish you peace, love and the knowledge that Karl will always be with you. There is a song that Tim McGraw sings that reminds me of Karl.... "Just to see you smile".
We just wanted to let ya'll know that Karl was more to us then a boss, he was are best friend. Ya'll are in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. He will be so missed.
