Virginia Ruth Cassaday, of Little Rock, passed away on May 14, 2012. She was born January 14, 1922 in Chamberlain, South Dakota. She lived in Nettleton, Arkansas until she was 18 when she moved to Jonesboro, where she lived until 1953, having married Bill Cassaday on May 29th of that year. Ruth and Bill moved from Jonesboro to Little Rock in 1953. They have resided in Little Rock ever since. They were members of Immanuel Baptist Church since January 1954. Ruth was a member of the Elizabeth Sunday School Class during that time with about 5 years working with 4 year olds. She worked at Hancock Fabrics from 1970 to 1978 when she went to J.C. Penney until 1999. Ruth enjoyed working in the yard planting flowers and shrubs, reading and playing parlor games. She was one of seven girls. She was the daughter of A.R. and Eloise Virginia Honey. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were sisters Mary Wise of Jonesboro, Margaret Maise of Memphis, and Frances Skinner of Colorado. |
