of Cord, AR
June 24, 1960 - May 7, 2024
Ronny Oren Lindsey, Age 63, of Cord, AR went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024.
Ronny was born on June 24th, 1960 in Helena, AR to Leonard and Mickey Lindsey. Ronny was first known as a son and brother who was greatly loved and cherished. He became a husband on August 23rd, 1980 when he married his high school sweetheart and the best catch he ever made, Rhonda.
They were blessed with children and grandchildren giving him his favorite titles, Daddy and Papaw. Ronny loved his family in the deepest way possible. He led them as a Christian husband and father in a home filled with God's love. Ronny was a friend with a servant's heart. He was always seeking out ways to help someone in need or lend a hand. Many memories were made on the shop porch around a fish cooker where he loved feeding fellow farmers, friends and his community. Ronny was a lifetime farmer who shared his knowledge and love for the land with many young farmers. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping with his friends and family. Ronny was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He cherished many people who are grieving this great loss but we rest assured knowing that he was greeted by his savior with the words ''well done, good and faithful servant''. He left behind a legacy that will carry on for generations and we will cherish our time God gave us with him. As Christians we know that we will see him again. Knowing he is in his heavenly home is the only true comfort we have. He was proud of his Christianity and gave God glory for the many blessings in his life. He often credited God for being what carried him through any trials he had in life. Ronny would want all of his family and friends to have that comfort in Christ and if you don't know God as your savior or have questions about salvation his family and pastor would love to share Gods word with you.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Lindsey.
He is survived by his mother, Mickey Lindsey; his wife of 43 years, Rhonda Lucy Lindsey; two daughters, Courtney (Aaron) Turner and Cassie (TJ) Burk; three grandchildren, Ryley Turner, Adysen Turner and Kaylin Burk; sister, Janice (Ricky) Floyd; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Lucy; Jonathan Davis, whom he considered family and many nieces and nephews as well as many friends he considered family.
Serving as pallbearers are beloved friends: Pat Melton, Lance Miller, Cleetes Gilmore, Jason Gillihan, Jake Gillihan and Randy Glenn.
Honorary pallbearers are cherished friends: Cody Melton, Roger Brown, Justin Melton and Terry Burk, the members of Turkey Hill Hunting Club, Dean Hastings, Jeff Morris, Terry Kirby, Chuck Dallas, Jack Rainwater, Josh Geurin, Blake Geurin, Dustin Geurin, Shelby Richey, Billy McCluskey, Tom Taylor, Ronnie Melton, Donald Coleman, Win Coleman, Gill Plant, Rick Thomas, Oren Latting, Cody Dickey and Shaldon Bezuidenhout.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm Friday, May 17, 2024 at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 2645 White Drive, Batesville, AR 72501, officiated by Bro. Jerry Chandler. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00pm Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home, 510 E. College Ave. Batesville, AR 72501.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to 7 year old Emery Bates and her family to help with medical cost as Emery battles meta-chromatic leukodystrophy. Donations can be mailed to The Bates Family, P.O. Box 28, Lynn, AR 72440.
We have all of you in our prayers. Kenny, Mellissa, Justin, and Kerrie
Ronny and Janice were childhood friends who lived just a couple miles from us outside Cave City. We visited each other's houses frequently and loved tossing the baseball around. Ronny was one of the best, toughest catchers I've ever seen, earning him the nickname "Hickory Nut" because of his toughness. My mother Beverly, Eddie, and Lisa extend our heartfelt condolences to Ronny's family and friends.
Rest easy in the Lord's arms, my old friend.
John Bradley
