Paul Robert Knappenberger, 82, of Evening Shade passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
He was born December 2, 1941 in Spring Church, Pennsylvania to Murry Owen Knappenberger, Sr., and Retta Willivine Shellhammer Knappenberger.
Paul served in the Merchant Marines for 2 years and was a retired riverboat deckhand. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include three sons, Scott Knappenberger of Evening Shade, John Knappenberger (Debra) of Southside, William Duvall (Honey) of North Stonington, Connecticut; two daughters, Ann Ring of Batesville, Angela Holt (Robert) of Cave City; one brother, Cecil Knappenberger (Melba) of Ash Flat; two sisters, Goldie Goodman of Evening Shade, Veda Rose Knappenberger of Cave City; seven grandchildren, Scott Knappenberger, Jr., Christina Knappenberger, Corey Duvall, Tristan Duvall, Trever Hatfield, Petra Ring, Zoe Ring, and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia Ann Sneed Knappenberger; one son, Cliff Knappenberger; one son-in-law, Rev. Michael Ring; one brother, Murry Knappenberger, Jr., and two sisters, Wilda Rush and Sandra Stuntz.
A memorial will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 at 10:00am at the Cave City First Assembly of God with Rev. Bobby Sanders officiating.
There will be a private burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
