of West Helena, AR
July 24, 1945 - April 14, 2024
Marlin ''Wayne'' Crews, 78, of West Helena, Arkansas died peacefully in his home on April 14, 2024. He was born on July 24, 1945 to Luther ''Luke'' and Alberta Crews.
Wayne proudly served six years in the United States Army National Guard with honorable discharge as a Second Lieutenant. Wayne married Nancy Crews on April 8, 1966 and had three children shortly after. He spent the majority of his life in West Helena as a public accountant. Wayne was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He could sit and talk for hours about history and his country. If Wayne invited you to dinner, you could expect to eat either: fried fish, fried chicken, steak, or ribs. When he wasn't working, you would find him at his cabin in Indian Bay grilling, fishing and driving his grandkids around on the mule. His favorite moments were spent at that cabin with his family around him as he grilled the best ribs in the world. When it came to his family, he was willing to do whatever it took to give them the best life he could offer.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; sibling, Deborah Crews and granddaughter, Mallory Crews Baskins. Wayne will forever be missed by his wife; children, Michael (Cherrettia) Crews, Van Allen (Kim) Crews and Mindy (Veronica) Crews; daughter-in-love, Spencer Crews; grandchildren, Joe (Anslea) Whitworth, Taylor (Spencer) Orlando, Cambri (Matthew) Cotton; Colten (Mckenzie) Crews, Kaylyne (Bradley) Hilton, Cameron Taylor, Clay Crews, Skyler Garner, Cameron Garner, Sawyer Clark, Addison Clark and Kimberlyn Crews; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Baskins, Wilson Baskins, Madelyn Holden, Harper Orlando,
Callea Whitworth, Kennedy Orlando and Brooks Crews; siblings, Bennie Crews, Lynn Crews, Don Crews, Gary Crews, JoAnn Jeffers and Barbara Roberts and many other family and friends.
