September 19, 1948 - March 28, 2024

Randy Dean Leach, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 28th, 2024. Born on September 19th, 1948, Randy lived a life defined by love, devotion, and dedication.

Randy was the son of the late Randall Richard Leach and the late Ollie Flodean Harrison. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard and sister, Rhonda. Randy is survived by his brother, Tony (Beverly) and his devoted wife and soulmate of 57 years, Anita (Bowie), who stood by his side through every joy and challenge.

His legacy lives on through his daughters: Tracy Norwood (Don), Marrey Carter (Michael), and Annette Leach (Richard). He was affectionately known as "Pop" and deeply cherished by his grandchildren: Jared Upton (Iris), Nicole Schultz (Justin), Stephen Leach (Blakelea), Zachary Leach (Justin), Bryce Carter (Hannah), Bailey Carter, Lauren Allen, Cooper Norwood, Sarah Rome (Tyler), and Emily Norwood.

Randy was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and laughter: Kendall, Klaytyn and Khloe Upton; Ashlyn, Richard, Aimsley, Ally, and Aubrey Schultz; Ellery and Adler Leach; and Daxton Stephens and River Dixon.

Known for his tough, straightforward demeanor, those who knew Randy understood that beneath it all, he was loving and kind. An avid outdoorsman, Randy found solace and joy in nature, pursuing his passions for hunting and fishing with unmatched enthusiasm. He also had a passion for cooking and was a devoted member of Marcus Hill Baptist Church.

Throughout his life, Randy embraced various careers, including serving as a member of the Army and police officer. He spent most of his years as an entrepreneur, where his diverse skillset allowed him to tackle any challenge with confidence and ingenuity. Randy was also a dedicated dairy farmer, skilled excavator, experienced hot shot and truck driver. Additionally, he owned and operated Bowie Bottoms motocross track, demonstrating his passion for adventure and entrepreneurship.

Randy never met a stranger. He had a gift for connecting with people from all walks of life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His genuine laughter will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Marcus Hill Baptist Church on Monday April 1st at 11:00 AM , with funeral services following at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at Marcus Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the church, in honor of Randy's memory.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Gentiva Hospice.

My heart and prayers are with the family during this time.

Randy, was a great man and loved life to the fullest.

Oh what a Celebration he is having with his Heavenly Father. As he met him face to face and shouting and singing as he walks the street of gold. Joining his son, and family who lift before him. I can only imagine.

All our love and condolences.

I've known Randy all my life, being 1st cousins. As a young kid, I can remember my daddy and mother going to visit his daddy and Momma, I always kinda dreaded our visit sometimes, because Randy would always aggravate me and his brother Tony. The last 7 years as his pastor at Marcus Hill Baptist Church, I saw him grow in the Lord and get closer to God. Prayers for his family.
