I served in the Air Force.

Denny Eves ReynaudI am a Veteran.

of Conway, AR

May 5, 1936 - March 19, 2024

Denny Eves Reynaud, 87, of Conway, AR, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 19th, 2024. Born in New Iberia, LA to Frank and Suzanne Reynaud, he graduated from New Iberia High School and served in the U.S Air Force Intelligence Division during the Korean War. Upon his return, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He began his career with the U.S. Government first as a Revenue Agent and, a year later, as a Special Agent with IRS Intelligence. It was there that he met Helena, his wife of 54 years. After working as an ATF Federal Agent in New Orleans, LA and Little Rock, AR, he retired to become an investigator for the Arkansas Judicial Discipline Commission.

As a young man, Denny experienced a profound conversion with our Lord, Jesus Christ. He followed Him the rest of his life as a faithful Catholic, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from St. Gregory College. Denny served through the St. Joseph Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister, the Kairos Prison Ministry Board of Directors, and as an inaugural Eucharistic Adorer. Students still recall his moving stories of faith from his many years as a parish religious educator.

God called Denny into His service as a chaplain in the Pulaski County Jail in Little Rock, where he spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to men of many different faiths. As a volunteer chaplain with Wrightsville Prison Ministry, he was able to share his faith with both men and women. He bonded deeply with his fellow chaplains, regardless of denomination.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Suzanne, brother Larry and sister-in-law Mary Ann, and daughter Shannon Marie.

Left to remember his persistence in prayer are his caring wife Helena, children Michelle Cantor (Philip), Wendy Thorpe (Robert), Wesley (Julie) and Shane (Magdalena), grandchildren Ethan, Harper, and Samuel Thorpe of Decatur, GA, Clarke Elmore of Fayetteville, AR, and Isis, Talen, and Jade Reynaud of Conway, AR, many relatives, and old and new friends. Denny maintained contact with childhood and school friends, and he loved sharing stories with them. He shared stories to the very end, having never lost his sharp memory or his gift of gab.

Special thanks to his many healthcare providers from Arkansas Hospice, Care IV, Visiting Angels, Hospice Home Care, Harter House, St. Vincent North ICU, and Conway Regional Hospital. Our sincere and deepest thanks to our priests Fr. Dasum, Fr. Taryn, and Fr. Eddie D'Almeida whose prayers and visits comforted Denny and his family. Special gratitude to Denny and Helena's faithful friends of 40 years, Manuel and Elizabeth Almeida.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of Denny's favorite organizations: St. Joseph Catholic Church Missions, St. Joseph Catholic School, Catholic Campus Ministry Conway, Life Choices, or KAIROS Prison Ministry.

Denny was one of a kind. As a young detective in the early 90's, I looked up to Denny. He was one of the first, if not the first Federal Agent I met. He was a good example to follow, and he set that good example. I think that he was a mentor for a lot of officers during his career. It was also evident that Denny was a man of faith. I lost touch with him over the years, but thought about him now and then and wondered how he was doing. My deepest sympathy and prayers for his good family. Rest easy my brother. You will be remembered.

As Sheriff of Faulkner County I enjoyed working with Denny, his Professionalism and the willingness to go above and beyond what the normal agent would do. I’m not surprised in reading his obit that God had him do so much more. I know he will be missed and I pray for your comfort in this hard time.

My deepest condolences to the family. Denny took me under his wing as a rookie ATF Agent and through the years we worked many cases together and had each other's back. He was a dedicated public servant and became a great friend. I was happy to hear about his later work with ministry and grateful that I got to pray with him before he passed. Rest in Peace Denny. God bless you and your family.

Helena and family, what a beautiful tribute you have written for your loved one Denny. He spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the very end. By his perseverance he has lead many into the promised land to be with their Lord and Savior.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen

Go rest with Jesus my Brother.

Your hard work here on this earth is done . It was an absolute pleasure of mine to be your friend and work alongside of you. You know, I enjoyed listening to your stories of when you were working in Louisiana.
