On Sunday, December 31, 2023, Verdarhea Langrell, a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and beloved member of the Quitman community passed away at age 86 in Conway, Arkansas.
Verdarhea was born in Damascus, Arkansas to Haydon and Hannah Skinner and was the fifth of nine children. She married her husband, Leo, in 1956 and had one son, Kenneth Wayne. She was a longtime member of the Cedar Heights Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas and the Flat Rock Missionary Church in Quitman, Arkansas.
Verdarhea was a small-town girl that was well traveled. Indeed, her quest to enrich her life led to extensive travels across the United States and abroad. She was a long-time employee of the Timex Corporation retiring as a corporate statistician. She maintained a closeness to GOD and led a quality life filled with love, strength of purpose and compassion. A source of inspiration and a mentor to her family, she blessed the lives of so many people over eight decades.
Verdarhea is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leo Langrell; her son, Kenneth Langrell and great grandson, James Hayes Langrell and brothers and sisters, Arvil Skinner, Evangeline Morris, Troy Skinner, Marjorie Spillers and Murlen Skinner. She is survived by her grandson, Justin Langrell of Quitman, Arkansas; great granddaughter, Zoë Johnson of Heber Springs, Arkansas; sisters, Marvell Williams of Arlington, Tennessee, Marylou Taylor of Quitman, Arkansas, Martha Sue Douglas of Clinton, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 11:00AM at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas with Visitation beginning one hour prior at 10:00AM. Burial service will follow at Flat Rock Cemetery in Quitman, Arkansas

Verdarhea was a beautiful person. so calm and caring. It is no wonder that she was liked and loved by many. I’m grateful for the time I was able to visit her.

My prayers to the family. I was one of Kenny’s friends in the sixties when we were at Oak Grove. I spent the night at the Langrell house a few times and went to church with them at Cedar Heights. The Langrells were always so very kind to me. I am sure she will be missed. So sorry for your loss.
Sad to hear this news, she was such a sweet person and her artwork was so admired. I met her through marvell Williams and Debbie Briggs when she would come to visit. Always so happy and friendly. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

I will never forget how Verdarhea welcomed everyone she came in touch with. Her soul was so beautiful in so many ways. She was one of the classiest women I know. I am very blessed to have known her for so many years. She is loved and missed by many.
