Dudley Eugene "Gene" Butler, 74, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away peacefully Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born June 21, 1949.
Mr. Butler is survived by one son, Bobby Myers (Becky) of Moro, Arkansas; two daughters, Layne Thompson (Raymond) of Marianna, Arkansas; Jamie McIntosh (Matt) of Searcy, Arkansas; Ten grandchildren, Christopher Butler, Kenlee Flowers (Drew), AnnaMarie Brock (Josh), Olivia Myers, Jett Myers, Phillip Thompson (Susie), Kris Thompson, Haven Thompson, Dalton Thompson, Macy McIntosh and five great-grandchildren, Neal Flowers, Baxter Flowers, Becklynn Brock, Liam Brock and Wyatt Thompson. His close love, Betty Hart and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patsye Butler and one son, Chris Butler.
Pallbearers will be Jason Herron, Danny Vick, Dustin Herron, Weston Herron, Jimbo Person and David Herron.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Marianna Memorial Park in Marianna, Arkansas. The family would like to invite everyone to join them for lunch after services at Marianna Missionary Church in Marianna. Gene, Joyce, Bob, and I had many great times together. He was so fun to be around. Always had a smile for everyone and a way of making everything 'okay'. We will miss him more than we can say.

Prayers for Gene’s family during this heartfelt time. He will be missed. It was nice visiting with him at our 55th class reunion on September 30th which was just less than 3 weeks ago. He was a wonderful classmate & friend.
