Loyd "L.D." Delbert CuddI am a Veteran.

of Conway, AR

July 20, 1935 - August 11, 2023

Loyd Delbert (L.D.) Cudd, beloved Husband, Daddy, and Pappaw, was called home by his blessed Savior on August 11, 2023 after a brief illness. L.D. was born on July 20, 1935 in Yell County, Arkansas to Verna Mae (Lowery) and Loyd James Cudd, who instilled in him a life-long dedication to the Lord's Church that endured to the end. In addition to his parents, L.D. rejoins his brother Kenneth, and sisters Geraldine and Sandra, who preceded him in eternity.

L.D. graduated from Plainview-Rover High School in 1953. Other than two years of service in the 2nd Howitzer Battalion, 36th Artillery at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, from the age of 17 he worked for the railroad, beginning as a Telegraph Operator, until he retired as a Agent/Clerk.

L.D. lived a life dedicated to faith, family, and community, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever cherished by those who knew him. He gave his heart to Jesus as a teenager, and the love and joy of Christ overflowed to those around him throughout his 88 years of earthly life. Faith in the grace of God was the cornerstone of L.D.'s life, and throughout his journey he demonstrated kindness and an abiding joy of living. Throughout his life, he contributed his time and talents to many ministries. Among his many contributions to advance the Kingdom of God, he helped to found and build New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart, Arkansas, where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent for several years, and he worked with the Food Pantry at Central Baptist Church, Conway Arkansas well into his advanced years.

A devoted husband of 61 years, L.D. found his lifelong love in Johnnita Hunter Cudd. Their abiding love and affection serve as an enduring example to their admiring daughters, Felicia Sadler (Dennis) and Sonya Murray (Steve). L.D. delighted in his three precious grandchildren, Jonathan Zahnter (Jordan), Elizabeth Sadler, and Nathan Sadler (Reagan), but his beautiful great-grandchildren, Addalyn and Bentley Zahnter, were the apples of his eye in his waning years.

L.D. was interred at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, Arkansas and the family mourned his passing in a private gathering. The family kindly asks that anyone who wishes to memorialize the life of L.D. Cudd, please send any gifts to the Food Pantry ministry of Central Church in Conway, Arkansas. But, above all, L.D. would wish that all might know the love and joy that he experienced in a personal relation with the Savior, and would invite you to give your heart into the hands of the forgiving, crucified, and risen Lord.

As we remember the time we had to share L.D. Cudd in this life, let us remember his example of faith and devotion. Like the Apostle Paul, L.D. has finished the course. He has kept the faith. And he has received that ''crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give'' not only to L.D.,''but to all them also that love His appearing.''
