Donald "Pops" Burks, 61, a resident of Subiaco, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith.
He was born August 9, 1960, in Benton to Lonnie Ray Burks and Fran (Hobby) Johnson. Donald married Brenda (Johnson) Burks on August 29, 1984, in Benton. He was a ''jack of all trades'', spending his working years in construction, farming and trucking. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed fishing and collecting coins.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Lonnie Ray and Diana Burks and a grandson, Carter Allen Arias.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Brenda Burks of Subiaco; three sons, Donald Blaine Burks of Alexander, Brennan Ray Burks of Subiaco and Brad Allen Burks of Paris; a daughter, Bethany Burks of Subiaco; seven grandchildren, Adalyn Alvern Whorton, Robert Allen Ray Whorton, Donald Blaine Burks, Jr., Makayla Burks, Logan Campbell, Natalie RaeDale Burks and Shawn Campbell; his mother Fran Johnson of Benton; a brother, Jerry Sullivan of Benton and three sisters, Donna Kay Fletcher of Bryant, Debbie Lynn Burks of Texas and Tammy Smith of Texas.
Cremation arrangements are private under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Miss you every day old man. Wish I had more time with you, but God needed you more it seemed😥 You deserved your peace, may not like it one but, but will try my best every day to understand you're still around regardless because let's face it.... Nobody's in the entire universe could stop you from picking at them any chance you could😂 Until next time dad
