Russell M. FeatherstonI am a Veteran.

of Paris, AR

July 4, 1932 - February 22, 2024

There are no more crops to tend, no cows to feed. The harvest is over for Russell M. Featherston, 91 of Paris Arkansas. He was born July 4, 1932 to Garland and Rulie Featherston, passing away February 22, 2024. He is survived by his wife and helpmate of nearly 65 years, Yvonne Featherston; two daughters, Margaret Cotton of Maumelle and Martha Nehus and husband Nathaniel of Benton; one son, Billy James Featherston and wife Debbie of Paris and one sister, Sally Featherston Hallum of McKinney, Texas. He was Papa Russell to Mariah Nehus, Elijah Nehus and wife Asmita, Megan Featherston, Brad Featherston, and Mary Cotton. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Bill Featherston, sister Joyce Featherston Merrick, and son in law Stan Cotton.

With exception of his college years and military service, he lived his entire life on his family farm in rural Logan County, milking dairy cows, raising beef cattle and row crop farming. He found time to enjoy attending any activities where he could watch his children and then grandchildren. He was an active member of his community who found many ways to give back, especially through his leadership roles in organizations including Logan County Farm Bureau, Logan County Fair Board, ASCS, Gray Rock Water Users Association Board and Logan County Cattlemen's Association. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
