Ruth Hurst Jones Evans, 102, of Wilson passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was born in Little Rock on November 5, 1921 to Harry Jackson and Freddie May Hurst. Ruth was a member of the First Methodist Church in Osceola and Wilson, where she played the organ for 30 years. She enjoyed taking care of her family, tap dancing, making the uniforms for the tap dancing team and golfing. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Ethel May Beall and her fiancé, Roger Brooks; grandchildren, Georgia May (Sam) Puryear and Andy Beall; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Mat) Drosopoulos, Grant Charlton and Cassie May (Michael) Sistare, Emily Jobe and Alexander Beall; great-great-grandchildren, Wesley Drosopoulos, Xander Drosopoulos as well as a host of family, friends, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harold M. Jones; her second husband, Garfield Evans; three sisters and one brother.
